Voluntary Contributions

Voluntary contributions are approved by the Spring Hill Primary School Board and align with the requirements set out in the School Education Regulations 2000. The 2024 contribution is $60 per child (capped at $180 per family).

Q. Are contributions mandatory?

A. Contributions are voluntary however we encourage families to consider contributing.  All voluntary contributions go towards providing additional educational resources and opportunities for our students.

Q. What exactly do voluntary contributions go towards?

The voluntary contributions received from Spring Hill families supplement the cost of materials used by all students across all subjects.  Materials include:

  • Student technology (iPads, laptops etc.)
  • Sporting equipment
  • Maths, English and Science resources
  • Additional language learning resources
  • Library books

Q. Don’t schools already receive funding from the Government?

A. Spring Hill Primary School receives funding from the state government based on the Student Centred Funding Model.  The majority of these funds go to employing school staff and covering general amenities (electricity, gas, water etc.). Voluntary contributions received from the school community supplement the remaining budget which goes towards school infrastructure and curriculum resources.

Q.  The beginning of the year, is difficult for us financially.  Do you offer payment plans?

A. YES! Spring Hill PS now offers PAYMENT PLANS.

We understand that the beginning of the school year can be a difficult time for a number of families in our community.  To assist in alleviating financial pressure, Spring Hill PS offers a number of different payment methods including payment plans.  This means, instead of paying a lump sum at the beginning of the year, instalments can be made at the beginning of each term.
