Students - Soft Plastic Recycling

In a further attempt to limit the quantity of waste Spring Hill Primary School sends to landfill, we are introducing a new initiative under our Sustainability plan for 2019.

With immediate effect, we will be encouraging students to place the soft plastic waste such as empty chip or popcorn bags, cookie packaging, yoghurt pouches and Ziploc bags often found in lunchboxes into one of the many specific waste bins located at different points round the school.

The bins are made by ecobin from post-consumer recycled material and will be fully recyclable at the end of its life, and the bins will be arriving in our eating areas in the next few days.

Soft plastics recycled at Spring Hill will be taken to collection points at local branches of Coles or Woolworths.
