Soft Plastic recycling has come to Spring Hill Primary School

As part of the Waste Wise grant, we have purchased five purpose built bins to collect the soft plastic waste from classrooms and lunchboxes, along with a soft plastic recycling container in the staff room.

The bins are made by ecobin from post-consumer recycled material and will be fully recyclable at the end of its life, and the bins will be arriving in our eating areas in the next few days.

We will be collecting soft plastics here at school and then batching our collections up, using the services of REDCycle.

We are NOT looking to be a recycling point for waste plastics from home, but parents can also get involved by dropping off your soft plastics into your nearest REDcycle collection bin at participating supermarkets and RED Group will do the rest.
